florescent steps back from VCT

Ava "florescent" Eugene of Apeks Apeks Europe Rank #25 MOLSI Michał Łącki AvovA Auni Chahade batujnax Mehmet Batu Özaslan has decided to step down from competing in VCT for the rest of 2025.

In her statement, florescent provided some insight into the change. She cited problems such as personal and family emergencies, as well as struggling to adapt to her relocation to EMEA. She had also previously vocalized some of her struggles in other posts and interviews.

Apeks corroborated many of these troubles in their own official statement. Despite doing the best they could to accommodate and help florescent throughout the year, both parties ultimately decided it was best for her to step down for the time being.

Apeks' signing of florescent back in December was a major milestone for VCT. As the first Game Changers player to ever step foot on the main VCT stage, her debut was raked with anticipation and expectation. While Apeks has yet to win a match in 2025, florescent has proven that she can compete with the best. She was the third-highest rated player in Kickoff, and had her share of incredible moments and performances throughout Stage 1.

florescent has definitely made her mark on EMEA.

florescent has suggested the possibility of returning to competition in the future, but for now will take the time to focus on her own well-being.

Nobody said she retired and 0 wins is more than you’ll ever get. She went to a team that knows it will be relegated and flor was never going to be the reason why. The ace in the video below will always be in the top 5 of all time and her individual numbers speak for themselves. She will forever be the first and that’s something nobody can take away from her. It may not mean a damn thing to you, but for those of us who love the game and have the ability to feel empathy, flor will always be remembered fondly even if she doesn’t return.🥰🏳️‍⚧️🔫

And outside of the team. Being on the other end of the world than your family and friends at age 18 with all eyes on you and thousands of low life losers having nothing better to do than to spend their entire time devaluing your identity is not easy.

That kind of situation where you're a magnet for hate is already tough enough by itself, but that while being alone on a different continent without your support system is a lot to ask from someone who is eighteen (18) years old.

Did you read the article? it's not Apek or any Tier1 problem with GC player. It just some personal problem. In fact, Flo coming from GC which is the buyout will be much lower than any tier1 player at this moment. If she can fit in any team in T1 scene, they will sign her immediatly for sure.

This is a shame, but I'm glad she at least showed that she herself is able to compete at VCT level. She was the third highest rated player in EMEA after Kickoff and still maintained a 1.07 rating (good enough for 14th) throughout Stage 1. All this in spite of her team not being able to win a single match. When she's happy and healthy enough again I'm sure she'll be able to compete on an Americas roster with no issue if she desires.

I hope she gets fit soon, I liked seeing her play. I also had my doubts with dudes like AvovA being her team mates (literally spitting into the mic even when playing bad, telling every single opponent to "sit down" -> Fnatic, Vitality etc.)

Doesn't matteer which region, she needs a nice and positive team. When her family situation is not so cool, probably the best would be competing in NA if she wants to come back at some point.

Big talent, nice personality... for her first VCT season she did a nice job regarding all the struggles.
