doesnt matter cuz they arent making champions anyway
da fk why not just get one from their academy team? they are already eliminated in tier 2 anyway
How is a team with multiple veterans struggling against a team of 5 randoms from ranked?
They need opportunities to play against other pacific teams more, you're not gonna improve if you are playing teams that are equally as bad as you
it means SG has a high chance to meet RID in the finals this split
does DFM academy even have a coach? feels like random team you see in ranked
2 - 0 murash wins
for valorant? yeah
for a conversation? mostly no
promote HoneyBunny instead tbh
Left right order doesn't matter
S: T1, DRX
A: GenG, TALON
B: RRQ, NS, DFM, PRX
C: GE, ZETA, Boom. TS
T1, DRX, + any of the A/B teams for Toronto
it won them the map and it's going to win them the tournament
Yeah, thats why I mentioned "depending on who qualifies" cuz I honestly don't fancy both team's chances of qualifying. Scarz has better players on paper, while Crest has a trend of performing above expectations sometimes. Murash fans are gonna go mad crazy if they missed out on main stage
Yeah seems like it, I think this issue is not gonna improve especially going into split 2. We have SG, Crest, Murash, Scarz, fighting for the last 2 spots for main stage, at some point these orgs are just gonna give up. This topic is gonna be brought up again depending on which team qualifies
Is it really considered unlucky if they failed to qualify to main stage 5 times? I do believe FAV got the short end of the stick with their tough draws and choke moments, but at some point you gotta just blame yourself for not getting better players.
its not Riot's fault that SEA and JP teams are trash
RID the only team that looks legit in this league
If only Jadeite had went instead of scarz, personally felt that japan didn't send their best team for 2023 Ascension
With how Riddle performed last year with ex zeta academy players + veterans of Joxjo and Seoldam, I am VERY SURPRISED none of the orgs tried to replicate that success this year.
Yeah Ionlywatchvcj is right, jp orgs are stupid
I've mentioned in a few of these threads that jp T2 this year are mostly recycled players from tier 1/2 and year after year these players do not seem to have improved whatsoever. With the fact that JP orgs are so happy to just reuse these players while neglecting to find and train rookies will cause the eventual death of the t2 scene.
It is lucky riot gave academy teams a spot to compete in T2 this year else there is nothing to get excited about for the future of this scene tbh
I might be cooking here, but I think xnfri could work as a coach. He is one of the rare few who could speak both Japanese and English plus he is an ex-pro (with tier 1 experience as well) so he would be familiar with how the pro environment works
But that would depend if he wanna un-retire and come back to valorant
not beating the mismanagement allegations
Do these orgs academy teams actually put in resources and effort to help these players? It feels like they just sign the player just in case they become the "next big thing". ZETA Academy seems like the only one that bothers putting in effort for their academy players
just realized, if Riot didn't allow Academy into tier 2 this year the whole league would just be recycled players from last year LOL
ngl feels like JP tier 2 as a whole regressed. The region is mostly filled with tier 1 rejects and washed "veteran" players that have just been content playing in tier 2 (not to mention all the orgs that are happy to keep recycling these players). This region won't go far in Ascension this year unless better rosters/rookies starts coming in later splits
no way igzist is a pro team with the way they are playing
I agree those KR bandwagoners can be too much sometimes but you gotta understand that ppl do get disillusioned after being disappointed by their favourite teams year after year while KR teams and talents improved so much within such a short time.
With the current trend, SEA and JP orgs need to do way better else Pacific will just get dominated by KR orgs in the future.
closest example i think is probably primmie since everyone was so hyped about him. But is a valo faker even possible in this game? Its so hard to stay consistent and dominate as long as faker didwith so much meta changes
I think if this trend of Korean dominance continues pacific will see a gradual loss of viewership over the years unless pacific starts winning some international trophies. VCT Korean teams just don't have the global pull that LCK teams have
ZETA can only play well against other Japanese teams, they always play like absolute fools against SEA and KR teams
its only Kickoff. I don't think smth will even consider leaving unless PRX fails to qualify for champs this year
Disagree, T1's LoL team is marketed like kpop idols and yet they won back to back world titles. PRX just has to put in more effort into the game and start playing like an actual team instead of just WGAMING
I know DFM just had a major upset but lets not get ahead of ourselves here. PRX looked trash
GenG 2 - 1 DFM
not a bad debut for 5 rookies and against sayaplayer no less, excited to see what they can achieve this season
teamplay looks good from zeta ac
2-0 for GE unless gyen starts fragging.
EMEA and Americas doesn't seem to have this issue.
I've heard hiroronn rumors floating around
A team that at one point had iZu, Akame, and Art. This team definitely were the favourites to win Ascension had they gone instead of SZ. I wonder how would the timeline have been like had JDT be promoted over Bleed.
Biggest what-if in the Pacific scene IMO
Ggs nice match.
Why did bro even gamble on the pistol
its T1's 1st match playing an off meta comp. I wouldn't think about it too much
akame was aim diffing in jp tier 2 before he had to IGL and his team suffered from him not carrying. So why not just get Art and let akame cook?
meiy's back is saved
13 - 10 DFM wins with a Meiy masterclass
There isn't a shortage of good Japanese duelists. If his replacement can perform as well as Dep on duelists I don't see how his talents would be wasted by flexing roles
T1 but I have a feeling there will be a surprise winner so lets see
